Well, S and I made it to Florida safe and sound yesterday! We actually ended up making it to the airport a little later than we anticipated we would (traffic was bad, and we were poky getting ready to go), but we made it to the gate on time, and the flight was otherwise uneventful.
The hotel [...]

So, here’s the latest and greatest, taken just this morning:
And no, I don’t walk around holding my stomach like that- it’s just to show off the bump for the picture. Here’s what I normally look like:
I’m at the point now where strangers don’t hesitate to ask about the baby- and it’s getting a [...]
Movin’ right along

So, S and I had a pretty successful shopping trip this past weekend. My good friends Matt and Nikki, who have a 2 1/2 year old son and are expecting their second little one, came with us to help point out some things that we might need. They were awesome, and I have to say, [...]

As of tomorrow, I’ll be 28 weeks along- go Baby P! I had a doctor’s appointment today, and once again, Ms. P behaved well– the doc was able to find her heartbeat right away, although Ms. P did move a bunch as the doc was trying to listen. Apparently she’s an active little girl! My stomach [...]

So I was looking at some pictures I’ve taken recently, and came across this one. It made me laugh, so I thought I’d share– It’s Charlie the cat in one of his favorite poses: paw over the eyes as if to say “Oh this is all just too much.”
Another fun fact about Charlie: he snores.

Preparation

As we inch closer to the due date, S and I are slowly, but surely, getting ready for the arrival of our little girl. On Monday night we were scheduled to go to our first parenting class which was supposed to be an hour and a half long lecture with a pediatrician, discussing well baby care. [...]

So much to write, so much to write! First, S and I had a great (albeit a bit tiring) weekend! I didn’t have my camera, so I’m relying on my parents and my siblings-in-law to send me theirs. Kim has already sent hers out (go Kim!), so I’ve copied a few below with some oh-so-original [...]
Third Trimester… wow.

Well, as of tomorrow, Baby P and I are officially in the third trimester. Wow. Exciting, but crazy stuff. She really is going to be here really soon, isn’t she?!? Wow.
All of the websites I normally go to to look at our little one’s development successfully scared the crap out of me this week- all three [...]
Now THAT I love…

Okay, so I’ve been hating all of the crib bedding that I’ve seen so far… until yesterday. Yesterday, Restoration Hardware announced that they have a new “Baby & Child” division, and I think I might actually like their stuff! It’s too expensive, but I think it will serve as great inspiration, at least.
Seriously, isn’t this [...]
Weekend wrap-up

It was a great weekend here in Chi-town! S and I ventured out to the Chicago Blues Festival on Saturday morning, and then went to Land of Nod to check out strollers. S’s comment as we were driving away? “Wow. We have a lot of things we need to buy to get ready for this [...]
