So much to catch up on!!! Lucy, my love, you are such an amazingly fun little girl right now… but you definitely keep your mom busy! It seems that every time I sit down to write an e-mail, or to update this blog, I get interrupted. I will write another post updating on how you’re doing, but for now, I’m going to begin to clear my backlog of pictures!
First, last month I celebrated my first “official” Mother’s Day, and it couldn’t have been better. It started with this gorgeous flowers being delivered to our house (the delivery guy told me I looked WAY too young to be a mom… which I took to be a compliment?!?).

The next day we went to the Shedd Aquarium, and it was so much fun to watch Lucy’s reactions to the fish. She kept wanting to reach through the glass to touch them! We bought a membership so that we can go back whenever we want this year, and I expect Lucy will like it more and more each time!

The next weekend we found a forest preserve not too far from where we lived, and took a really nice walk with Lucy in the Bjorn. It is so nice to be able to get outside!!!

Lucy and daddy- so cute!

Inspecting a leaf.

Mommy got a turn, too.
In May, Lucy also got to take her first train ride. We took the train from Chicago to Milwaukee, where we met my mom to go up to Green Bay.

When we got to Green Bay, our first stop was to visit my nephews, Henry, Leo and Emmet. Emmet is the little guy in the car seat next to Lucy.

Right after this picture was taken, Henry asked, while looking at Lucy, “Why are her arms so fluffy?” Cutest.question.ever. I told him that she was just a bit chubby… after which I was informed that chubby is NOT a nice word.

Eventually we ended up in Madison, visiting my brother Joe, his wife Kim and their kids. Here is Emma chillin’ with Grandma Ruth.

Grandma and her granddaughters- Lucy and Emma.

When Uncle Scott’s nephews see him, they IMMEDIATELY tackle him, and demand that he wrestle with them!

The girls, meanwhile, had calm fun on their own.

Grandma Ruth, Grandpa Emmet and Lucy.

We took a walk by the lake- here’s Grandpa Emmet and Andrew.

Timothy joined in on the fun.

Lucy doing what she does best- chillin’.

Emma loves pushing Lucy in her stroller.

Daddy got a turn pushing Lucy, too… as you can see, she was quite happy to see him!
So much fun to see family!
Last picture for this post– we went to Great America a couple weeks ago with my friend Robin, her husband Karl and their little girls. Lucy got to ride on the carousel for the first time- she liked it!!

More pictures to come…
